  • Followup: RE: GDAL SAGA driver testing

I do not want to complicate matters, but if a temporary "home" for the latest executable install file (which I believe would be saga_20091209_bin_mswvc.zip) is desired, then I can offer to host that file in the UNESCO/IOC/IODE training resources at OceanTeacher.org temporarily. I would specifically link to the zip file from...

  • Followup: RE: GDAL SAGA driver testing

I would really like to get the new version and try it, but the LASERDATA pages seems to be offline now (all day, in fact). Is anyone else having trouble accessing them? Murray.

  • Followup: RE: SAGA may be more than I need to add a grid.

Volker, Please go on. Do you add a new column to the data table? Or edit the existing table column? And how do you get the text strings to display?.

  • Problem gridding data with missing values

We are trying to grid various marine parameters contained in ordinary tab-separated tables. The records contain lat, lon and various usual ocean station parameters. There are missing values, ranging from a very few for common parameters (e.g. temperature) to very many for rarely measured quantities (e.g. neon). It is very inconvenient to strip out separate XYZ tables for each parameter, so we...

  • Followup: RE: different results in SAGA 2.0.3 and 2.0.4

I'm still using 2.0.3, and can't find "Set Range to Min/Max" at all. Is it something only available on 2.0.4? I'm right-clicking on a dataset, then selecting "Create Normal Classification". Is that where you meant? Murray.

  • Followup: RE: different results in SAGA 2.0.3 and 2.0.4

I just looked again at the test grid I mentioned in my note about value range differences, and can quickly see that a very large part of the grid is ignored, perhaps all the features with sediment thickness of importance, so the "outlier" definition must be extremely strict. My students happened to see the different max values on the classroom screen (they used 2.0.4 and I used 2.0.3),

  • Error in grid value range (in settings)

We're displaying some marine sediment thickness grids, with sizes of about 600X400. The maximum thicknesses go up to 8000-8500, but the maximum automatically detected by Saga 2.0.4 is 2700. Saga 2.0.3 correctly displays the full range. There are blank values on one side (i.e. land), but the maximum values are not directly adjacent to them. I suspect this is related to the value reading...

  • GRID ANALYSIS - Rect to Polar gives an error

I am very certain that I have loaded two perfectly good U and V vector grids into Saga, but when I try to use the Rect to Polar module, I get MODULE CAUSED ACCESS VIOLATION! I also tried saving the grids in SGRD format and using these copies for the operation, but got the same result. Does anyone know if this module runs OK, or does anyone know why I am getting this error?.

  • Followup: RE: Create a polar coordinate grid?

Thanks, Volker. I've started in with some reading on both geotrans and proj4, so I'll have a month of homework before I can even ask an intelligent follow-up.

  • Create a polar coordinate grid?

Is it possible to convert a cartesian grid to polar coordinates in Saga? Directly or indirectly or any way at all?.
