Sorry, I missed the first line in the log. I'm not sure what's wrong. Do you have a properly installed kernel + sources at the directories listed on the 2nd line of the log? In particular, does /lib/modules/2.6.22-9-generic/source/.config exist?.

The tp_smapi Makefile is not supposed to be used this way. Use a simple "make HDAPS=1". If you wish to customize the kernel directories set KSRC, KBUILD and MOD_DIR. Does that work?.

  • Add -nojoystick -nolirc to mplayer

All batch invocations of mplayer should get the "-nojoystick" and "-nolirc" arguments, to prevent unintended mangling of the conversion. My laptop has an accelerometer to protect the disk, and its Linux driver is emulating a joystick; so if I physically tilt the laptop during video conversion, the result is messed up. (You can imagine how spooky that was until I figured it out...)

You'll have to either recompile the kernel with gcc 4.1, or compile tp_smapi with gcc 4.0.
