  • Consistent behaviour of alt+o

When using +o to open a new line, it will simply open a new line right under the cursor position. It is a little bit irritating that scribes will also do this when one selected some text (from bottom to top). - I think now the new line should be under the selection (not under the cursor) (also to be consistent with brackets, replacing... which all depend on the current selection).

  • Eps2pgf does not work with inkscape eps\\\'

If I put text in an Inkscape svg and export it to eps eps2pgf throws an exception that "Associating a font with more than one key" is not supported. (even if there is only one text item) As this would be the first possibility to use inkscape with pgf I'd like to see it implemented :-)

  • FEATURE REQ: Open in new instance

I want to use scribes with my mailprogram. This starts an external editor with a temporary file and waits until the process just started exists. This does only work if you unset the "fork_scribes" gconf key AND don't have en editor open at this time. I'd like a commandline option to "start scribes without forking as a new process" - Is that possible with the current infrastructure?.

  • UNDECIDED: combobox in encoding error dialog

Hi, when I try to open a non-utf-8 file scribes says rightly that it cannot decode it and closes itself. I think it should at least open an emty editor window with the current path set to the path of the file I wanted to open or even better provide a dropdown-box right in the error-message to select the right encoding.

  • Comment: Scribes doesn't recognize changed prefs

This affects all prefs and the only terminal message I get is ** (scribes:6159): WARNING **: Failed to send buffer ** (scribes:6159): WARNING **: Failed to send buffer but this happens right at the time of starting scribes, not when changing prefs.

  • Comment: Scribes doesn't recognize changed prefs

0.3.1dev5 gconf is running (and it works in Galeon, eog, nautilus...). The scribes.scheme is installed to /etc/gconf/schemas/. An example: I start scribes and run in a terminal: # gconftool -g /apps/scribes/spell_check false Now I press F6 in scribes: # gconftool -g /apps/scribes/spell_check true But the checkbox in the prefs-window is still deactivated (and spellchecking as...

  • Rectangular selection and number of character

I'd really like to have a possibility to select and work with recangular areas (like columns in a table). Emacs does this very nice and textmate as well: http://macromates.com/screencast/math_and_column_selections.mov And another great feature would be the display of the number current character in the statusbar (next to the line and column number).

  • Scribes doesn't recognize changed prefs

When changing a pref like spellchecking or the right margin scribes does not realize the change immediately. After closing all documents and restarting scribes everything is fine. It seems like scribes doesn't catch the gconf change event or so?.
