This seems to be the same problem as bug ID 2818266; the package is corrupt. It seems that the package "ns-2.34.tar.gz" that is available for download from SourceForge is corrupt. I'm having the exact same problem on Ubuntu Hardy 8.04. Is there any solution that doesn't involve upgrading OpenOffice.org?.
