In the File menu, “New ViPER File …” should probably not have the ellipsis
since it doesn’t open up a dialog box.

Dr. Cameron Smith saw this one because virtual-dub is before other
loaders in order. The work-around for this is simply to remove the
virtualdub.dll, which will cause a standard java exception - which in turn
causes a different decoder to be used. Anyway, a good solution would be
to monitor for the situation:
Before using a decoder, set a variable that says what decoder you are...

It should not be parameterized by the Class. For
example, if I have a list of Shape, I may want the a
FilterIterator to return instances of Square. However,
I am unable to create such an iterator, as the
filteredIterator method requeres the predicate to be
super Shape, and Box clearly does not.

Supported through virtual dub wrapper on windows, qt4j on
macs. Linux people can figure out something. Let me know
when gstreamer has a good java api that integrates well with
Swing.
