Underscores in LaTeX doucments need to be escaped to be rendered successfully; path names to graphic files as parameters to the \includegraphics macro however should be unescaped which isn't the case at the moment. so the xsl stylesheet for LaTeX should be changed to not escape here:

i'm not stick to a new attribute if it's possible to extract the information out of uri, that's fine. although the request is based on the necessity to have an popup which works in moodle, i think there might be definitly a need to generate js handlers in html. i don't know if "javascript:" in the url is the best way to do it, but i wonder if it must go there when you have to rewrite it to...

would be nice to have a JavaScript Attribute for link-Element so there's a possibility to pass arbitrary JS handlers (onClick, onMouseOver..) to the a-Tag, eg.
