It would be nice if you supported Snarl for the pop-ups. The pop-ups you have are nice, don't get me wrong, but there are more skins and styles for snarl and I think it looks good. SNARL is at http://www.fullphat.net/index.php.

This isn't the first time I have seen this complaint posted in these boards.
It is a little quiet for me but overall I am used to it and can usually hear what is being said. I was wondering though if any work had been done on sound output 'equalization', boosting the frequencies most human ears need to understand speech. Allowing some presets based on these parameters -...

ok, so I looked (eeek!) and I found you can whisper to a channel (shock! suprise!). Imagine these forums if people looked first then posted! (bad habit I and others have sometimes)

If the channel you want to go to is empty, how can you whisper a target in an empty channel to join it? ...Or can you whisper to a channel? Funny after all this time I never tried.

No easy way to check if the font draws outside of the texture area. Leave it to Microsoft to have font rendering code that doesn't check bounds and report warnings.
Like I said I don't user overlay much, the game I have been using with mumble lately is DX7 (Neverwinter Nights).

I believe the discussion I referenced implies that it currently is not possible but the feature has been requested. You may want to find that feature request and add your vote and your specific needs to it.

If you had glanced further down the list of discussions you would likely have found this:
Which explains that it is not really easy, but it is do-able depending on the needs.

In the user interface panel there is a checkbox for "Ask on quit if connected", so uncheck that option and you are all set (if you are on 1.2.0, I don't recall if 1.1.8 has that option)

Auto-start it with a URI internet link (if you are on windows).
Mine looks like this:
mumble://Mike@localhost/?version=1.2.0.
