The problem happend "in coincedance with" using the borg_.data from within OpenOffice too.
to item 1.: Yes, BORG is non-starting, with that exception
uninstall and new install gives a new running calendar
to item 2.: The restore-procedure seems to function not that way - it looks as your backup-file is overwriting content of .data without asking user to do so.

The following exeption had happend:
java.sql.SQLException: S1000 General error java.lang.ClassCastException: java.sql.Timestamp cannot be cast to java.lang.String in statement [SELECT value FROM options WHERE name = ?]
Not understood what happend, data-files are still readable.
Any ideas?

wouldn't it be a good idea to have the item LOCATION available.
It must not be the big solution that gives full Resource-Management abilities, but something on the same hierachal level as category would really be helpful.
For example when try to use the BORG-data for a diary or other more complex stuff with retrieval and reports created under OpenOffice or something like that.

I came across BORG and tried it, as it uses HSQLDB, and I managed to read the files from OpenOffice.
However, I am missing something:
I had the intention to collect exhibition-data, but that is not seriously working. The missing item is a second-stage of categorie, similar to TAGS or KEYWORDS or anything like that.
At actual I can not see any other possibility to create calendars, that can...
