When you open a Bible and a commentary in parallel in the same window, where the commentary has entries spanning multiple verses, for each verse of the Bible the full commentary entry is repeated (try MHCC for example). In addition, the full verse reference is printed in the commentary (e. g. I Corinthians 1:2), where in the Bible you only see numbers.
