P.S. Good news! I have tried running Textcite on Mac OS 10.6.1 and have had no issues. I haven't done more than add citations to an existing database and save changes, but at least that works well. I'll keep you posted if anything misbehaves.

Dear Eric,
Thanks for the advice! It looks like Apple just released the first bug fix for Snow Leopard, so I guess it's not a bad time to upgrade.
God bless!

Does TextCite work OK on Snow Leopard? Right now TextCite is a "mission critical" app for me, so I can't upgrade if it doesn't work... and I don't have the time to reinstall my OS twice right now (going back to Leopard if it they don't get along).

Dear Erik,
Thank you very much! Any work you can do on this is much appreciated. It really is a very helpful program!
Enjoy the San Fermines; that will have to substitute your 4th of July celebrations, I suppose. Don't get run over by any bulls. We need you in one piece!
Con una bendición,
Fr Matthew.

Thank you for the quick response, Erik. I checked the preferences file, and backups are off (maybe I turned it off a while ago - the last backup file I found was from 2007), but I can't turn them back on from within the program (see my bug report on this issue). Can I turn them on by manually editing the preferences file, and changing "false" to "true" for...

As mentioned in the user forum... I accidentally hit the key to make a new citebook, and when prompted to save the current one, I chose "yes"... and it overwrote the citebook I was using with an empty file. In other words, it made a new citebook *before* it saved the old one, and then saved the empty one with the old name.
This was not a fluke. I have reproduced this error by making a new...

When one selects "new citebook" while having an unsaved citebook open, there is no option to cancel; just to save nor not. Since one can accidentally select this function, it would be nice to include a "cancel" option as well.

An easy fix for this for now is to add line breaks in HTML - - I've been doing this and it works just fine. It would be nice not to have to do it, of course, but it's no big deal.

Somehow backups is turned off (I can see that in the preferences file), but I cannot turn it on or off from the preferences pane of the program; there is no checkbox (see attached image).
