Oops, attached the wrong log. Attached a log showing the
same problem using a Ixus V. I will atach the log for the
Ixus V3 later (don't have the v3 handy at the moment...).
syslog entries look like this
hub.c: new USB device 00:1d.0-1.3, assigned address 5
usb.c: USB device 5 (vend/prod 0x4a9/0x3052) is not claimed
by any active driver.

I'm experiencing the exact same problem as described in
bug #825636: When capturing a image, the lens extends.
The camera then powers itself off. Transfering images
from the camera works fine.
Attached is the output of gphoto2 --debug --capture-image.
The syslog shows the following messages:

Forgot to mention the version of kwavecontrol: 0.3 (debian
version 0.3-3)

Altough my wireless connection works fine with kernel
2.6.0, kwavecontrol doesn't (it sometimes crashes, but
most of the time it displays a "crossed box" icon in
the system tray and clicking on this icon makes
kwavecontrol exit with the message "Alarm clock"
written to stdout.
