amak79: I take back what I said about the USB drive...when I placed it in the VIDEO directory it did see it and it played fine. Your post got lost in the mix, so I didn't see it. So, my question is: What would cause the video to not play when streamed by play when not streamed? Is there a way to look at the mime type being sent from Media Tomb? The video in question comes out of the...

The new use flags didn't help. The VLC script I have still vomits on its shoes, something about "[00000711] avcodec encoder error: cannot open encoder". I am not sure what that means, but it sounds like there is a problem with one of the codecs. I am still not sure about the output file I created before using the ffmpeg script. VLC says the codec is mpgv, but Movie Player says...

Ok, I tried converting one of my MKV files using either of the scripts. I removed the line "<treat mimetype="video/x-matroska" as="mpeg"/>". I noticed the script for "video-common" wasn't chmod'ed executable, so I fixed that. I am running a sample now, but even after I re-added the video's directory through the web portal its still showing "Unsupported Data" for both the thumbnail and when you try to play the...
