where did you get the "actual output" from (which system)? In most cases, the spacing looks ok to me, however, I see that especially the spacing between the sub-characters and the next element seems too small. Actually, this space is 0.
The question is now: What would be a good spacing between msub and the following element? Should it be 1 px (which would not scale) or a...

Thanks for the report. This is should be fixed in 3.1.8, which had yet another stretchy rework.

Here is another release of JEuclid 3.1.7. Most notable changes:
* Bugfixes in the display of mo (stretchy=false), mglyph (if subelement of other element) mmultiscript (with whitespace) mfence (with empty fence)
