PATCH: This patch/quickfix allows to read metadata from any namespace. You might want to bind it to opf checking xmlTextReaderConstPrefix to be "opf" or "" .

Some epub seems still compliant to standard (at least they run in adobe DE
and DE mobile) but still they aren't visualized
if not for a white page in okular,
testcase : http://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=48589
1) try to open (white page)
2) unzip, move metadata.opf and toc.ncx in content dir, modify
META-INF/container.xml
to point to content/metadata.opf ...

okular is crashing when in the opf file there's opf:metadata instead than tag.
testcase : any file converted with calibre.
