I am using the 3.6.2-2 packages for Debian stable as
downloaded via apt from the repository specified on the
SI website.
When I run the command 'si_prepareclient' on the gold
client, the program exits after a while with the
following error:
"I couldn't identify your kernel file. Please try --XXX."
I tracked the problem down to the regular expression in
the '_get_kernel_release'...

Hi There,
I was trying to get logging with the logging module
working using code from the example provided in section
6.28.8.1 in the documentation. My log file was empty
after program execution completed. I ended up adding
'logging.shutdown()' to the end of the example code to
finally see the results in the file ('hdlr.close()'
works as well).
cheers,
manuel.

Hi There,
My platform is Windows 98, Python 2.2.3, wxPython
2.4.2.4.
I have a program which has several grids each in
a separate notebook page. The grids have custom data
tables and I have defined my own data types. There is
a problem with the editing controls, which can be
reproduced with the demonstration program I have
attached. When you run the program try the...

You can require people who submit patches to your work to hand over copyright to you before you accept patches (this is what Sun's OpenOffice Project does - http://www.openoffice.org/copyright/assign_copyright.html). If you become the sole copyright holder and license patches that you accept under the LGPL ,the code remains free - in the GNU sense - i.e others may take, use it, change it...

Your best bet is to dual license the code.
Releasing your code under the GPL does not relinquish your copyright. Since you have the copyright you can re-license it in any way that you wish. Several major projects (OpenOffice, QT, ReiserFS...) work in this way. I believe MySQL does as well though I haven't looked into this. If you want to avoid forking the code (i.e. having a GPL fork and...

Hi,
You state that your software is free 'to use but not in any commercial way'. If this is so then your license violates the OpenSource Definition and is not Free Software (neither public domain nor GNU as you state is it is licenced under). Under this definition a license is not allowed to restrict the use of the software based on somebodys intended use. I strongly suggest you read the...

When I try searching the sourceforge site in Netscape
6 on Win 98, a new sourceforge window with a search
field comes up but there are no results. It works
fine with I.E. explorer on the same machine. I
haven't tried in linux. I have attached the html for
the page that comes up in netscape.
