Hello KPlayer.
The latest support for VDPAU in mplayer adds a few options to the -vo vdpau cmd line. For example, for deinterlacing one would call mplayer as:
# mplayer -vo vdpau:deint=2 ...
and if one wants to add sharpening, then:
# mplayer -vo vdpau:deint=2:sharpen=1 ...
