I cannot reproduce that, neither with published 2.0-1 nor with current trunk. Please provide more info about your setup, see mine below.

Trying to set a vertex radius to 2 in the edit panel, it gets set to a different value if you bring up the panel next time.
What is worse: once the radius gets set to 0, it cannot be set to any finite value anymore.
