  • Should I uninstall earlier versions?

I downloaded and installed p7zip with the download-able file from this site, then I installed it with apt-get, then (because i wanted the fullest version most suited for my distro, Ubuntu) I installed p7zip-full with apt-get . Would it be a good idea to uninstall the earlier versions, or are they OK? If so, how?.

  • Can my archives span files? If so, how?

    1) How do you run this thing? I'm used to just double clicking on JAR files. 2) Does this program support spanning files like WinZip does?.

The Air install went fine but typing Air on the command line doesn't run the program. It says the command is not found. I'm using the latest version of Ubuntu.

  • Does G4L store images in a generic format?

Does G4L store partition images in some kind of proprietary format, or can they be restored with any old drive imaging software?.

  • Can't find cygwin1.dll

Installed the program. Ran it (on a WinXP system). It said it couldn't find cygwin1.dll. Reasonable, I don't have Cygwin installed. So I installed the latest version of Cygwin (into C:\win_progs\cygwin\. Ran the program again. It still can't find cygwin1.dll.

  • Comment: "The Application Failed to Initialize properly (0xc0000135)"

Wow. If my entire problem was a lack of .net, I'm surprised. I would have thought MS would have provided a more user-friendly error message.

  • I've spent hours trying to compile Tix and I can't do it.

I realize you guys have limited resources but isn't there any way you guys could host a Tix binary? Seriously, I've been trying to compile Tix for the past few hours and I can't do it. I've tried with gcc in Cygwin, I've tried with Borland C++, I've Googled about it and nothing works. If I had all the right tools... maybe Visual C++... and I knew everything there was to know about getting...
