I already tried avahi-glib but had some difficulties with it. Yet, i'll give it another try.

This is a more or less complete implementation of the counterpart to the server zeroconf.
I added some controls to the connect-widget, which tries to get the zeroconf-data and connects to the server. Currently, no server data (version or gametitle) is processed in any way. This is more a proof of a sample implementation. A lot of things have still to be done:

This is the first part (server) of the patches for pioneers to support zeroconf (in this case avahi). The patch should be altered to only compile on systems which use avahi and also the Makefile.am should be altered too. The Makefile.am is currently hardcoded.
The patch is made against SVN rev 1457.
The client-part will follow soon.
