I obviously misunderstood the U3D terminology, so presumably the number of nodes wasn't the issue. However, the output issue remains; running the generated IDTF through the converter it outputs either a trivial (200byte) or empty u3d - whereas the IDTF from Meshlab 1.2.0 works fine for me (but, sadly, doesn't include the colour information, which I need).

No, I was just using a high resolution version to make sure none of the decimation was damaging the mesh in some way and maybe that was the reason I wasn't getting anything out into the u3d file.
It turns out under Linux I actually had a chance to snatch the whole idtf file before deletion, and then ran it through a seperate IDTF converter ; it believed the IDTF had only one node! (And this...

Answer: in some /tmp file somewhere, and then is immediately deleted. Ok, I managed to catch it while it was still being created before it was deleted; it was about 2/3 done. The fairly sizeable (12Mb or so) partial IDTF file is sitting in http://www.cita.utoronto.ca/~ljdursi/meshlabissue/foo.idtf . Does that help? Is there any parameter I can set in meshlab to not immediately delete the...

In none of the three cases have I seen an idtf file. Is it placed in the same directory as you are saving to, or in some /tmp directory somewhere?.

Hi:
I'm really impressed and excited by MeshLab; it opens up the possibility for me to include complex 3d visualizations interactively in my scientific papers.
I'm having trouble with saving to U3D. I have an X3D file output from a visualization package ( at http://www.cita.utoronto.ca/~ljdursi/meshlabissue/Fig1-z-mag-vel-small.x3d ) that successfully outputs as a U3D file using the...

We are running a new ePresence installation, and our first presentation went online with no problems. However, our second and third presentations are having problems. When we pull up the event in producer afterwards, everything looks fine; but when we publish, the resulting event has the correct slides, but the video from the first talk. What are we doing wrong?.
