  • Comment: Can't enter long passwords

vnc generally doesn't allow for longer passwords; it's not standard protocol.

  • Followup: RE: CLI

I guess a workaround for specifically ssh would be to start sshd with sudown while still at the host; that might cause all child command prompts to have administrative privileges?.

  • CLI

I noticed you have support for launching sudown from the command prompt, but you leave us out to dry by forcing the gui for the password. Therefore, if using ssh, one would have to start a vnc session to type in the password. Is there a way to enter the password from the command prompt? If not, could you try to implement this?.

  • UTF-8/Unicode

Unicode support for file browsing. It can't browse folders with japanese characters, (or any other unicode). Thanks.

  • Followup: RE: ideas!

I will try this later, as I am unable to do so at this time; but is 7 max theoretically an aid for programs like MediaCoder (video conversion), or general encryption apps?.

  • Comment: Icons/shortcuts on desktop

use explorer. make explorer the default shell, and see if you can configure some sort of peace between explorer and the emergedesktop.exe. if you are willing to forego emerge's right/middle click menu, then just stop emergedesktop.exe from autostarting.
