  • better stats on language files removed

While I like the fact that Monolingual tells you about the amount of language files it just has removed, it would be even nicer if Monolingual also kept a running total of the amount of language files that have been removed since it was installed. I would also like for Monolingual to keep a count of the number of language files removed, not just their size on disk. And if you are going to...

  • Comment: often crashes soon after start of languages removal

The tool seems to go through phases where it will crash multiple times in a row while removing languages, and then work several times in a row thereafter. Here is one way that seems to increase the chance that Monolingual will crash while removing languages: 1) Launch Monolingual 2) wait 10 seconds and don't move the mouse 3) Select to remove languages 4) wait 10 seconds and don't move...

  • Comment: often crashes soon after start of languages removal

The previous "Sender: nobody" comment was made by that other user who was seeing the similar crash behavior. I uploaded another crash report because it was a SIGBUS related crash. Most of the Monolingual crashes I observe are SIGSEGV related.

  • Comment: often crashes soon after start of languages removal

Another user showed me they were encountering similar problems with v1.4.1 soon after then upgraded from OS X 10.6 to 10.6.1.

  • often crashes soon after start of languages removal

Monolingual v1.4.1 will often crash under OS X 10.6.1 soon after starting to scan for Language files to remove. This crash behavior started soon after updating from OS X 10.6 to OS X 10.6.1. I find myself having to run Monolingual 3 or 4 times before I get a scan that does not crash. The usual mode of crashing appears to be a segmentation violation in thread 0. Here is a typical crash...

  • ignores some languages listed in 10.6 System Prefs

Monolingual v1.4.0 ignores certain English languages listed in System Prefs under OS X 10.6. Despite the fact that v1.4.0 claims to have Snow Leopard support, when U.S English, Canadian English, Australian English, or British English is listed in System Preferences / International / Languages, Monolingual removes those languages by default. As was noted in bug #2847250, selecting the above...

  • Comment: default language mismatch under 10.6

Are there plans for a 10.6 Snow Leopard update for Monolingual?.

  • default language mismatch under 10.6

Monolingual 1.3.9, when run on Snow Leopard (OS X 10.6) does not correctly default as to which languages it will remove. As a test, I set the following Language & Text System Preferences panel, in this order: English U.S. English Canadian English Australian English British English Italiano (Italian) olelo Hawai'i (Hawaiian)
