Scope info for C++ is wrong. It is somewhat better than for python scope info (that ignores classes at all), but the info is only update, when making a larger scroll with jumping into a new focus, not just via line-by-line scrolling. Still, the info is sometimes correct, sometimes wrong even then.
I use Geany 0.18, Ubuntu.

It is still there, Geany 0.18, Ubuntu. It works for plain function definitions. But it ignores classes at all. I've seen (when forcing scope search to go from 'symbols_get_current_function' function into 'parse_function_at_line' function) that the condition 'if (start == end)' is true there for situations when inside a python class.
It can be slightly changed with something like:
