There will be more hurdles. The hardest, I think, will be that inspecting the component type of the collection (ie. String for a List) will result in an asychronous AJAX call (assuming you are using the default GwtRemoteInspector). This will be a problem for the WidgetBuilder, so life will be harder than it is for...
