Hmmm I've never tested it against 2008. I'd guess it would still work as long as they didn't change around the security stuff. As long as you are using a standard sql login and not a windows account it should work. Is that the complete error from the first message?.

It should be the server name or ip address of the server you want to login to. One thing to look out for is how your local server is setup. You will need to enable TCP/IP connectivity using the management tool for it to work.

No I started it, but never finished it. I do have the latest checked in so you can try to get it working. I think it was actually working ok, but I never tested it enough to confirm.
