I second Jos' comments. I don't believe it's worth pursuing further updates to Gotmail.
That said - I have requested previously that anyone interested in patching or working on Gotmail is welcome to email me and I'll get you set up. Or Jos has made the same offer.

Gotmail is not currently being updated. I recommend trying Getlive (http://sourceforge.net/projects/getlive/).
