Your mouse should work (kind of) without any modification,
but your cursor will move up and down when you move your
mouse left and right and other spurious behavior is exhibited...
From what I've read, the problem appears to be with
combination keyboard/mouse USB devices in general.

I finally got around to fiddling with this again..
I re-downloaded a copy Mechinstaller copy and transfered it
to the same USB flash drive I had used before...
Somehow, this time it happily worked. Even though the video
display was mangled, it was clearly a booting screen.
Everything worked as it should.
Problem solved. :-)

I've tried setting up a 192.168.0.x network as well. Same

I'm attempting to install Linux via the MechInstaller
1.0 FATX images. I'm pretty certain I've got a version
1.4 Xbox and the proper version of Mech Assault.
I've succeeded in transfering the proper savegames
(Emergency Linux/Restore Dashboard/Install Linux). Once
I start Emergency Linux (so I can run xbox_tool -a) the
screen begins flickering, but I expect this due to the
