This is strange - never saw this before!
Please try to run with OSYNC_TRACE and see if you can figure out which dir cannot be created and why.
Background:
blueZync is creating a directory called "blueZync" inside your thunderbird profile directory (and as you get no error messages for this; we must assume that it works OK).
Then OpenSync tries to create subdirectories called...

OK, it would seem that package building does not work at the moment. Could you please create a bug report for that?

It is not clear exactly where you are getting those errors. Please elaborate.
It would seem that the problems occur during building packages.
Unfortunately, building packages may not work at the moment (I will look into that).

By the way: You should be able to sync contacts now. Fire up Icedove and try.
(And you can worry about Light/Iceowl later)

You have probably run into the "Sunbird/Lightning compatibility" issue mentioned on [http://bluezync.kaarposoft.dk/compatibility.html][1]
Since you mention Icedove+Lightning I guess that you installed a Lightning you got from mozilla add-on's manually from within Icedove.
That will not work. You must use the Iceowl plugin from Debian.

What does the test log say? (LastTest.log somewhere in the build directory).
It looks like the test program could not find icedove, but it may still work from within icedove itself. Try...
