  • Crash when closing .tex file

Mac OS X, 10.5.6 (Dual Quad Xeon - Mac Pro 2,1). I had several .tex/.pdf pairs open. I clicked the close box on the most recently typeset .tex file. That file closed, and then the Disco Death appeared, followed by the crash (Crash log attached). This showed up in the system log about 1 minute prior to the crash. No other log messages related to this appeared, other than the "crash log"...

  • Comment: Crash while saving/closing a window

Ha. I couldn't reproduce it with the version I was using (which was from 4/23, BTW; I got confused by the recorded creation date on my system). I have been trying with the 4/26 version (#1476). Still works just fine.

  • Crash while saving/closing a window

This occurred using the 4/25 nightly build (#1473): I had a .bib window open (my default, with ~600 pubs). I keyed CMD-S and CMD-W in rapid successioin (or perhaps CMD-Q; I intended CMD-W, but they are close together...). I got a crash, crash log attached (Mac OS X 10.5.6, Mac Pro2,1 [Dual Quad Xeon]).

  • BibDesk went catatonic

Using Version 1.3.20 (1450). I was clicking around in the pubs of a smart group, looking at the ones with an "attached" doc. At some point, with one pub selected, it went into hyperdrive. I'm using a Dual Quad Xeon, and all processors were pinned. 'top' showed BibDesk taking 750-850% of the CPU. I'm attaching a 'sample' taken while this was going on ("sample BD 10 20"). This is...

  • Skim always opens docs too big for screen

I have set the pref to open 'fit', but Skim always opens with the window close to the height of the screen, and the document enlarged well beyond the window size. I have a 30" display, so this is overwhelming. FWIW, I just customized the toolbar to include the scale factor, and it appears that Skim always opens a new doc with the scale factor set to 394%.

  • LaTeX preview fails

The attached file (with 2 pubs and a batch of smart groups) shows the problem. Selecting either one works, but selecting both gives me a failure message (Unable to create preview). The log (also attached) seems not to help, but may make sense to someone more skilled. FWIW, I use the file MyBST all the time with BibDesk and TeX, w/o problems. If you'd like to see the bst file and the TeX...

  • Smart group creation is borked

In the latest released BibDesk (Version 1.3.19 (1329)), the creation of smart groups seems to be broken. When I create a smart group, I fill in the blanks in the drop-down dialog, and hit OK. The result is a new "smart group", labeled "smart group" (instead of the content of the search field), whose content is *everything* in my library. The problem seems to be resolved in Version 1.3.19...

  • Comment: 10/7 NIghtly crashes on launch, 10.5 and 10.4

That fixed it for me. Thanks!

  • TeX Preview window behaves badly

If I have the (stand-alone) TeX preview window (CMD-SHFT-T) open to the log page, and select entries in the ("main"?) pane of the .bib window, the preview window shows nothing; if I then switch to the pdf or text pages, it tells me no items are selected. Seems counterintuitive.
