But I don't know why u loose contents of your file.
Anyway it's good to save backup files, in different format (xml,
qif), to be sure to maximize the chance to not loose all your
data.

The goal of this gui design is to enter quickly a lot of
transaction, I won't change that philosophy for the moment,
and as soon as the user understand how it works, he will stop
to click on transaction tab that he doesn't want to create.

It uses the name of the account in the qif file. If an account with this name already exists it uses it, if not creates a new one.
Anyway you just have to go to the new account, select all transactions, cut them and paste them in the one you want.
