Currently there is no version that supports Japanese as source, although this is a feature request from a number of users.
I'd be willing to coordinate the development project if there are any volunteers.

Your following the proper process. Can you test creating a new project with the original US file and recycle, then build? This should carry over all resizing - if it doesn't then there is something wrong with the binary.
What version are you using?.

It does sound like a parsing problem. I'm surprised you didn't recieve a parse error during project load. Is there anything in the Errors.txt file?
Otherwise feel free to e-mail me the RC file and I can have someone take a look at it.
