Currently (both 0.1 and git-snapshot-e067222e69c932a81c8cec7a50bf4a88aa89369d) the playlist UI shows the beginning of the xmms2 playlist (a couple of hundred entries or so, I didn't count, but nowhere near the whole playlist), irrespective of what track is currently being played. I certainly understand the desire to limit the number of tracks shown in the UI, for perf reasons I presume, but it...

Jon asked me to file this here. As discussed on the
openclipart.org mailing list, thumbnailing does not
appear to be working correctly.
For instance, if you go here:
http://openclipart.org/cchost/?ccm=/media/files/rejon/6
The "thumbnail" takes an abnormally long time to load,
for such a small image. The reason is (drumroll
please...) because it's not small. The HTML of the
page...

Incidentally, behavior in this regard is the same on Gnome
2.x as on Windows XP.

Incidentally, the "flash three times" part has no known
effect on any
application; an app's taskbar icon will still always flash
forever.
This (issue 3) is a bug in Windows or in TweakUI, not in gaim.

A similar and possibly related issue is that if the user
does not have a
conversation window open, upon receiving a new message, gaim
will
pop one up -- focused and in the foreground. So when I sent
an IM
to someone who was in the process of typing email, I got back a
random line from the email she was typing. (She was
experimenting
with gaim, and...

The one column I'd really like to see added to the
playlist is length (probably in hh:mm:ss format, where
the hh: gets left off for anything shorter than an hour
and the mm: also gets left off for anything less than a
minute long).
Additionally, I'd like to see position information for
the track currently playing, either in the same format
or as a progress bar (I don't care which)...

If you click on "Info", there's a "Search" button that usually
does a pretty decent job of finding the site where the music
is offered.

If implemented, the install wizard should ask the user whether
to start out with it on. Because, its main use would be for
new users, until they get some ratings established to
correlate things and get decent picks. The picks I was
getting improved *vastly* after I got my first really good
track and rated it highly, but prior to that most of the
tracks I...

Agreed. I'm on a shared 33.6 dialup at home, so it would
be nice to throttle irate to (say) half of that so that we can
still get email and look at the web while it's going.

I would like to see the playlist grow arbitrarily large but use
a weighted algorithm that plays higher-rated tracks more
often. Unrated tracks should be weighted as if they were
rated pretty high, to encourage you to rate them. (And
yeah, you should be able to choose how many unrated
tracks are on the playlist.) Tracks rated at 10 should play
much much...
