Also, if you are simply exporting slides into Powerpoint, why not simply use Powerpoint as your projection manager and type up your songs as .ppt files, then atleast you could make full use of powerpoints features (such as full text search)...
OpenSong is used instead of Powerpoint because it is better at the task than Powerpoint. You would simply replace one problem with another.

The exporting .jpg files idea above might be useful in a number of situations. However if used in the manner suggested with powerpoint, it would remove available features such as hiding the text, and presentation hot-keys. Imagine navigating through a Powerpoint presentation when your worship leader decides to jump back to V2 rather than repeat the chorus at the end of a song. The issue of...

Zerothis: OpenSong and Powerpoint do two different things. If you were previously using Powerpoint to display song lyrics, you will probably find that OpenSong is nicer and easier to use for this purpose. However, trying to create a presentation in OpenSong to go with your sermon would probably not work very well.
Powerpoint (or OpenOffice Impress) integration would be a very handy feature...

Thanks for the replies.
I was not clear in the first paragraph - it was openlp that I was referring to about having to include choruses more than once in the database - this was one of the features I preferred in OpenSong.
And again I think I was unclear about my proposal re. the style slide type - I do not wish to remove the functionality, but in order to keep the UI clean I would alter...

I recently played with openlp (http://openlp.org). I have chosen to keep using OpenSong, for presentation features such as White-out, output freezing and text hiding. Also, OpenSong interface and keyboard shortcuts for presentations are clean and intuitive while I found openlp somewhat clumsy. As for the requirement to type a chorus multiple times in the database for it to appear multiple times...

Does your projector have any facility to freeze the image? If so, you can freeze the image, escape on the computer and reload, without the congregation being any the wiser.

Is it intentional that in the presentation, copyright info and CCL licence numbers are not prepended with eg. "Copyright ©" and "CCL:" respectively?
Is there some option to enable the labels to be shown? Or is it possible that this can be added to the software. I am unfamiliar with the source code language but I would be happy to make any changes myself if I am able. I...
