    Step one, upgrade to Snort 2.8.4.1 Step two, try this: preprocessor sfportscan: proto { all } \ memcap { 10000000 } \ sense_level { low } and log to db.

    What version of Snort are you running? You should be using the sfportscan preprocessor (which will log to database.) There is no need for the portscan.log file anymore. Plus, I don't think it worked in the first place.

  • Remote Launch of Applications

    I'd personally like the ability, and I imagine it's not an easy task to accomplish, for remote launch of applications. For instance, if I have my mail program on one physical computer, if I click on a URL in an email, have it launch in my browser, on a separate physical computer.
