Um...
for the 2nd case (... does not exist) I'd like to be able to
optionally add the files. (although from the results of the
merge I did, these files were deleted from the branch on
purpose, and did not need to be added.)

I recently used the merge start/end
(cvs update -j tobranch -j frombranch)
There were many results such as this:
1. cvs server: file dir1/subdir/a.java has been
modified, but has been removed in revision frombranch
2. cvs server: file dir2/subdir/b.java does not exist,
but is present in revision frombranch
These are not marked as conflicts, but still need to be
resolved one way or...

I downloaded and installed the TortoiseCVS-debug.exe dated
Aug 7th.
No Menu, No Icons, No Joy.
Now when I double-click TortoiseAct.exe I get this:
"The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000034).
Click on OK to terminate the application."

I have un-installed, re-installed, backed-up debug install
and installed 1.9.14 - then using windows safe-mode
overwrote 1.9.14 with the debug version... same error.

TortoiseCVS-debug.exe does not install into windows
explorer. There are no Tortoise Menu items in the
right-click list, and the directories do not show the
tortoise icon.
The install directory seems to include all the tortoise files.
Is there anything I can do manually to install into windows
explorer?.

23011 *.java files modified (search and replaced)
23011 *.java.sr0 (cvs unknown) files
Use tortoise to get a clean copy of everything.
I took a screen shot at the beginning of the update
showing the cvs command used.
The second screen shot shows that I have scrolled to
the top of the output screen, and only a portion of the...
