Hi Jean,
unfortunatelly 1D Mark II uses a modified canon protocol that I was not able to reverse engineer yet also because I don't have any 1D at hand ;-) But I tried it and it didn't work. The camera refused to respond after reading serial number. The communication protocol seems to be similar to the one that old 300D is using but is different.
Sorry for not helping that much :-|...

Ok, I tried some basic tests with multican for 400D, but it seems 400D communication protocol is (again) not compatible with any previous Canon cameras. So I'm postponing the fix to the time I'll have time to reverse engineer the communication protocol (and have the camera at hand for longer time).

It seems that even the initial bulk read failed for some reason. Could you please attach a log, where you compile multican again with:
make CFLAGS="-DDEBUG=1"
?
It will show more verbose log of the camera communication, what will help me figure out where the problem is.
