Thank you very much, worked like a charm. This sounds like it would be a very handy step to include in the INSTALL file. I spent a few hours trying to figure this out. Something on the lines of: ./configure automake -a -c make make install But maybe this is only a problem on Ubuntu or maybe other Debian based Linux's. Thanks again, Jim.

I should mention I have just downloaded the newest package on sourceforge of vmpsd-1.4.tar.gz release on 2/1/09. Thanks, Jim.

  • Installation Errors

I am installing on Ubuntu 8.04 and have successfully ran ./configure, but get the following errors when running make: root@ocs:/home/administrator/VPMS Info/vmpsd# make cd . && autoheader autoheader2.50: WARNING: Using auxiliary files such as `acconfig.h', `config.h.bot' autoheader2.50: WARNING: and `config.h.top', to define templates for `config.h.in' autoheader2.50: WARNING: is...

  • Followup: RE: Upgraded 0.16 to 0.18 now PHP broken

I just did the following: sudo apt-get remove --purge php* apache* Which completely remove apache and php5. Then I reran the installfog.sh script which re-installed apache and php with the proper configuration. A quick change of the /var/www/fog/commons/config.php line define( "MYSQL_PASSWORD", "" ); and re-entered my new password then pointed my browser to...

Funny you suggest that, I found your old post about 5 minutes before making mine. I ran through the procedure listed and it had no effect. I restarted Apache and then rebooted the machine just to be sure and no difference. I then tried apt-get remove php5 and apt-get install php5 with no luck. I ran through and all things point to php being installed properly in Apache. I made a test.php and...

  • Upgraded 0.16 to 0.18 now PHP broken

I am running Ubuntu 8.04 and I did an upgrade from 0.16 to 0.18 and now PHP is broken. If I try to run any PHP from this web server it prompts me to download and save the file or find an application that can run it. Any ideas? Thanks Jim.

  • Followup: RE: FOG Service unable to connect to remote serve

I'll do that today and post back. I did try removing the service and any FOG related files I could find and then re-install but it didn't make a difference. I can hit the server on both test clients and get the #!im. If I read right this looks like it should be using port 80 to access the server so if I can hit port 80 on the web I assume it would mean the service shouldn't be getting blocked...

Good to know this is percieved as a bug and is slated to get fixed. Thanks, Jim.

  • Cannot image fast wiped disk

I used FOG to "fast wipe" a computer that was successfully imaging prior. Once the fast wipe was run and I try to send an image to that machine, fog starts up and tries to image but states no hard drive found and reboots. I think I have seen posts stating similar problems. I should note that the machine to be imaged is a physical machine, not a virtual machine. The server is...

I just booted and imaged an entirely different machine, different model, single NIC and I still get the same error. Ideas? Jim.
