    Simple... just go to the plugins window under menu "Tools" (or Ctrl-U) and select the Pidgin-encryption plugin and click "Configure Plugin". Go to the "Local Keys" tab and select a key, then click "Regenerate Key". Next change the "Key size" to whatever you like, but the limit is 4096 bit. Keep in mind though, the bigger the size, the longer the messages and thus takes longer to encrypt/decrypt!

    I work with windows XP and can confirm these problems as well. I also dumped the 2.6.1 and installed 2.5.8. It now works as before, but logging on to ICQ fails. Read that this is due to a change in login scheme at AOL/ICQ and that this problem was resolved in the later versions of pidgin. Still, I'm a happy camper since the big three (Google/Yahoo/MSN) work fine. Any news if there's an...

    Found the solution already. It's because of Pidgin 2.6.1. Installing an older version 2.5.5 made it work again. I just read the "Open Discussion Forum", so this one is closed for comments!
