Never mind, another reason we need a WIKI.
RTFM (or at least look at restart.sh for more clues).
Although, I am noticing that with NFS shares, I'm not seeing any de-duplication, is that right?

I'm trying to get NFS to work with .22 and can't seem to make it work.
I get a local resource to mount, but when trying the /fuse one, I get permission denied.
Help!
John.

>> In the future the feature that you are requesting would be one my list. For now good kernel NFS support, snapshots and replication come first.
Go Mark Go! Yea for NFS support!
I did find a FUSE version of NFS, but didn't know too much to install. I'm not in any hurry, i'll just wait for u.

Chris,
I'm with you, but honestly I think this might be something you or I could start on, since Mark is busy coding the new features. I'm not sure where the wiki would be stored though
I agree the docs are a bit sketchy but can be pulled together after looking at the tar for a few hours :p
I've built it on Debian 5.0 with the 2.6.26 kernel with ease.

For those of us watching lessfs, it would be awesome if an announcement were made when new builds are posted.
I am now monitoring the package too, but a quick announcement always helps too :).
Thanks
John.

Ok, so how do I set the CIFS block size? Is this during compile?
Thanks
John.

Hi Mark,
I'm glad you responded, I wanted to make sure I was on track.
I did include a cache, first of 20gb and then of 1gb, and did notice a slight change, obviously the more the better. I have the full testing figures on google docs if your interested.
I also played around with threads, as per my last post, they make a HUGE difference On my single proc laptop, I had it set to 2 and...

Again, it's premature, but I wanted to see if I threw a LOT of computer at lessfs, what would happen - Pretty interesting results. These are by no means something you could publish professionally, just me in my spare time.

I know it's only v0.2, but I wanted to see how much I could get out of lessfs.
The thread above intrigued me so I started testing, and getting horrible performance on my laptop test machine, like raw being around 40 MB/s and lessfs getting something like 400 kB/s - HORRIBLE!
So I started tweaking some of the .cfg parameters, namely buffer and THREADS, well I found my problem, THREADS makes...
