Some first thoughts. Don't use two lists "Available" and "Used". Why don't you use one list of checkboxes. Every active checkbox adds a tab to the inner notebook control. You should try to get all the stuff which belongs to an listbox entry into one page. Hard job... ;-)
You have some identical botton groups. "Insert" and "Replace" uses several buttons...

That's exactly what I mean. But I think it would be better to add an UNDO button which is only active after a rename process.

Opps. Never look inside this dialog. Does it undo the whole renaming action? Even if the process aborts?.

If checked out the head from SVN, and I have tried to start it without installation. I'm using Ubuntu Dapper with python 2.4, wxgtk 2.6 and python-wxgtk 2.6.1. This is the result:

Métamorphose is a powerfull application. This power leads to an complex UI. One way of unglutter an huge dialog is to hide unused (disabled) stuff.
One way --the Gnome people are often use-- is to "fold groups of elements". The "Main" tab of Métamorphose has 5 such groups.
The first group may consists of "Acts on", "Dir", "Prefix" and "Suffix". This one should be always visible...

I use Métamorphose for renaming images of my digital cameras. I often change the sort order manually, mainly because the numbering of different cameras doesn't match their content.
If you have to sort images, it would be good to have at least a preview of the selected image so I can verify that I move the correct one. Thumbnails of all would be the greatest, because so everyone can see the...

It would be nice if Métamorphose could "undo" a renaming operation. This should be easy to do. Simply add the pair 'prev name' and 'new name' of each successfully renamed file into a list.
An undo could be done by the user (after recognizing that his pattern wasn't good ;), or recommended by the application after the first failed rename. The last would avoid partly renamed files.

The current release of libvisca has a unsecure handling of the RS232. There is no timeout, the handshaking isn't disabled, the ibuf[] can overflow while waiting for the VISCA_TERMINATOR.
Due to changes in the platform SDK, libvisca can't be build with Visual-Studio (2005 Express here).
The attached patch fixes this and fixes bugs in the packet generation of set_whitebal_one_push...

The quick-search currently searches only inside the "Konto" field (I only have the german translation, sorry). It would be nice to have an additional field with searchable "metatags". This could be an alternative way to "group" entries into categories.
If you have metatags, it would be great if the quicksearch supports the search for multiple word (with AND) inside the "Konto" (title?) *and*...
