Hello,
I have a similar problem, but not quite the same.
I have set up the latest version (due to its compatiblity with php5).
As the admin user, my permissions seem to work ok, but it doesn't seem to save the correct permissions for other new users that i have added.
I would like to look at the logs, but i'm not sure where to find them or what they might tell me.
