I built a new Python 2.5.2 just for wxPython and used that for the wxPython build process.
It worked finally.

Red Hat Linux (not fedora), wxPython 2.8.7.1 source.
Compiling from source because there are only downloads for Fedora and we also need the app in a specific location.
