The docx4j project has been using diffx for a good while now to diff 2 Microsoft Word OpenXML paragraph objects, or 2 content controls (aka sdt).
It works pretty well. Aside: maybe one of the reasons there are few posts in this forum is that diffx 'just works'? :-)
That said, I thought I'd post about an interesting case that just came up.
The case is a first paragraph containing an...

Just thought I'd post to let interested people know the above has been working well for me for a year now, using ikvm.
Up until very recently, I used ikvm 0.36; now we're using 0.4, which uses modularised openjdk.
To create diffx.dll:
First, download ikvm from sourceforge [1]
Next,
"c:\Program Files\kvm-0.40.0.1"\bin\ikvmc -target:library diffx.jar
That's all...

Hi
Just wondering whether anybody has tried using Saxon in Google's AppEngine?
It won't work if it creates a new Thread or a new ThreadGroup. Given this, any recommendation as to which version of Saxon I try?
thanks .. Jason.

I was wondering whether I can use this plugin in Eclipse *on Linux* just to get basic C# syntax highlighting? (I don't care about the broader silverlight functionality right now)
I started to install eclipse4sl, but didn't have pde.ui dependency installed, so I stopped, and thought I'd ask first whether there is platform specific code which will prevent this from working.
thanks .. Jason.

You may find it easier if you use Poi or docx4j, both of which build on top of the raw packaging stuff.
In the case of docx4j, see http://dev.plutext.org/trac/docx4j/browser/trunk/docx4j/src/main/java/org/docx4j/samples/AddImage.java
If you want to insert your image into the header/footer, there is a recent post to the forums showing you how to do that.
cheers .. Jason.

When I do
gm convert some.pdf some.jpeg
or
gm convert some.pdf some.png
the resulting image is missing the right most 10% or so of the input image.
This problem is present in GM 1.3.3
This problem used to be present in ImageMagick - it was present in v6.2.4 (tested on Linux), but fixed in 6.3.7 (tested on Linux) and 6.4.8 (tested on Windows).
The problem is not Ghostscript's...
