Well, it's not that simple. I use adaptive binarization on the content selection stage, so the threshold varies across the page. That's necessary to deal with non-uniform illumination.
Setting a lower DPI when creating a project may help you. I'd like to see a sample page if possible.

I see what you mean. Yes, this kind of feature would be nice to have. Unfortunately, I've abandoned this project a long time ago, leaving no one to work on it. I'll leave this feature request as open, though I don't expect it to ever be implemented.

Task level parallelism (that is multiple pages being processed on different CPUs at the same time) would not be terribly hard to implement, as Scan Tailor already does all processing tasks in a background thread. However, I don't think task level parallelism is the way to go for Scan Tailor. The way to go would be parallelizing individual algorithms using OpenCL. The thing is that probably 4...
