Issue resolved. The Windows Terminal Server gives out a temporary license on first connection that expires after about 9 months. This is stored by rdesktop in ~/.rdesktop/license.. Removing this file causes another temporary license to be generated for another 9 months. Microsoft have this workaround for XP clients documented at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/187614.

I used to be able to connect to a Windows server. A couple of months ago it started failing. Now I can only connect about one try out of 30. The message from rdesktop is "ERROR: recv: Connection reset by peer". The server admins refuse to help at all since I am running a non-approved O/S (Linux). System is Ubuntu 8.10 beta, kerrnel 2.6.27-7. rdesktop version 1.6.0.

The module save_rule.cgi has several times a repeat of the code:

I'm having two problems with sctp_getpaddrs(). Env is 2 laptops with ethernet and wireless. One running kernel 2.6.20.6, the other kernel 2.6.17.1. The source endpoint is on 2.6.20.6, the destination endpoint is either of them (the problems are the same). The problems occur when the destination endpoint is running as dual-homed. I compiled the kernel with SCTP_DEBUG turned on.
