  • Comment: pydns spec file.

Logged In: YES user_id=81797 The package is named "python-pyspf" because the software is distributed in a tar file named "pyspf". I could change it, but I believe that would lead to confusion because of the difference in name between the distributed package name and the RPM name. Therefore, I'd recommend against changing it.

  • Comment: pyspf/pydns information is a mess.

Logged In: YES user_id=81797 If I'm reading your response correctly, you are saying that the original author has turned maintainership over to you. And you have released a new version. So, at the least I'd recommend you make a note of this on some page, and probably that you submit your new version to the Python cheese shop so that others can find the new version. This is similar to...

  • Spec file for pyspf.

Attached is a spec file which I will be submitting to the Fedora extras project, this properly builds RPMs of pyspf. Note that the base release does not properly build RPMs with "python setup.py bdist_rpm". It copies type99.py and spfquery.py to /usr/bin, and then compiles/optimizes them, but the RPM build fails because it doesn't expect .pyc/.pyo files in /usr/bin.

  • pyspf/pydns information is a mess.

The PySPF page at http://www.wayforward.net/spf/ does not reference this project, and has download links for 1.6, but no mention of 1.7 which is available from sf.net project. Conversely, the sf.net project only has RPMs for pydns, not a tar.gz. But no link to http://pydns.sourceforge.net/ which seems to be where you can get the source. Either remove pydns from the Python milter...
