Thanks for the change, for me moment I can leave without reformatting the few files that are using the unsupported BOMs.
BTW, You may consider switching the project hosting to google code - SF is quite lame and very unproductive.

It looks like Omaha (Google Updater) is similar with GUP Any opinions on this?

After you install easy_install and add it to the path you discover that it is not able to find Python even Python installation is there and working..
C:\dev\buiild>easy_install
Cannot find Python executable C:\Python26\python.exe
Tested on: Windows 7, Python 2.6 x64, setuptools-0.6c9 installed manually by unpacking the tar.gz and running ez_setup.py ...egg.

C:\Python26\Scripts is not in path and due to this easy_install cannot be called. The installer should update the path environment.
