    PPMd is too old...

  • Followup: RE: BCM - The ultimate BWT-based compressor!

    As to PPM, BCM usually not only faster but has a higher compression. For example, comparison on a classic "book1" test file: 7-Zip 4.65, Ultra-PPMd -> 211,227 bytes BCM 0.08 -> 209,826 bytes ;)

    By default, BCM uses about ~300 MB of memory. It is more than two times smaller than with 7-Zips Ultra compression level. Anyway, you may set desired block size, changing the memory usage as well.

  • BCM - The ultimate BWT-based compressor!

    The brand new BCM is one the strongest BWT-based compression engines available! It have nearly the PAQ-like compression power with the reasonable speed and memory usage! Check it for yourself! http://encode.ru/forum/showthread.php?t=382 :)

  • BCM compression

    Check out the brand new BCM - a BWT+CM file compressor that features strong compression with a fast compression and decompression. http://encode.ru/forum/showthread.php?t=279 It's one of the strongest BWT available: calgary.tar BCM -> 784,072 bytes BLIZ -> 790,491 bytes BBB -> 798,705 bytes MCOMP -> 800,402 bytes Original -> 3,152,896 bytes book1 BCM ->...

  • Comment: RAM -> RAM interface & *.h file

    Hi! Currenrly I'm still working on compression - i.e. better parsing strategy for higher compression, some speed improvements, etc. RAM -> RAM feature is somewhere at the bottom of my TODO list - i.e. it may be implemented in far future. In addition, I avoid header files - since the whole source is placed at one CPP file. I think it's easy to replace IO, you need some sort of...
