  • Followup: RE: Import Auth Field fr. SciFinder Tag .txt file

If you only need to import authors and not inventors, 2.4 should work. However, I hope someone can fix the import filter so that both authors and inventors get imported into JabRef.

  • Followup: RE: Import Auth Field fr. SciFinder Tag .txt file

In the following example, only the authors of the patent titled "Device..." are imported with JabRef 2.5. With JabRef 2.4, all authors *except* those from this patent are imported. START_RECORD FIELD Copyright:Copyright (C) 2008 ACS on SciFinder (R)) FIELD Database:CAPLUS FIELD Title:Device for fastening an attachment to a measuring tube of a Coriolis mass...

  • Followup: RE: JabRef flaws

No idea how to fix this, but someone has started a separate thread for this issue: see [https://sourceforge.net/projects/jabref/forums/forum/318825/topic/3396080/index/page/1][1] [1]: https://sourceforge.net/projects/jabref/forums/forum/318825/topic/3396080/index/page/1.

  • Followup: RE: Import Auth Field fr. SciFinder Tag .txt file

There seems to have been a change in the import filter: when I import a tagged file from SciFinder with JabRef 2.4, the authors are imported. Only in JabRef 2.5, most authors are missing indeed.

  • Followup: RE: Note field not in preview of unpublished entr

It should be noted that it's the lower box, "Preview 2", where the edits need to be made. It took me a while to find that out.

  • Followup: RE: JStore search

Same here, JSTOR and ACM still don't work in JabRef 2.5.

  • Followup: RE: Times cited

I suggest you save the references from Web of Knowledge directly in BibTeX (assuming you're using Web of Science). Then (via "Options" -> "Set up general fields"), add ";times-cited" to one of the display tabs. I don't know how to do it if you want to keep on using the ISI ("plain text") format. It it possible to edit the import filters?.

  • Followup: RE: JStore search

Same problem here. Additionally, a search in ACM portal returns the error message "Could not parse number of hits", and no results are displayed. IEEEXplore and Medline work fine. Regards, Martin.

  • Custom exports don't work

Dear all, when I try to export references with one of Marten Kooiker's custom exports, I get "Could not save file. java.lang.NullPointerException" and the RTF file is not created. When I select the begin.layout or end.layout file in the "Manage custom exports" window instead of the main leyout file, there's no error message and the RTF file is created, but of course it is...

  • Followup: RE: Howto: External Import Filer pdf-File Batch?

I'm not an expert, but wouldn't it be possible, e.g. with a Unix shell script, to read the filenames, extract author, title, and year, and write them into a BibTeX file?.
