I like it! Do you plan to do more event pictures? I think the game could benefit, if they have a consistent look.
Regarding the picture, the sea may deserve more love. The waves look somehow repetitiv and a lesser bright blue may fit the mood better (I guess early morning or evening). The sailor stands out, because he isn't shaded, is this intentional? Nevertheless, I like the effect.

Hadn't had much time in the last weeks, so I made only some small changes for the galleon and lengthened the privateer by 4 pixels.

On old galleons those lines indeed followed the decks (which wasn't the case anymore on later models) and they seem to be the main culprits for my perspective problem, especially at the space where the cannons were placed at. Some straightening, reshading and cleaning up may help.
Good point about the size of the privateer, it justifies a rework of the hull. Since it takes some time in this...

Mhh, thats true... I think due to the removal of the cannons there are some deficiencies in the shading. I will take another look into it.

Thanks. Size manipulaton is a no-go in pixelart, you will lose lots of details and sharpness. Luckily it's not necessary, I don't need to crop the ship itself, I'm just adding or removing blank space in the bottom part of the picture.

Thanks alot. I'm reducing the privateer's height not because of overlapping problems (at least it's not the main reason), but for aesthetical reasons. I still want too keep a relatively big sail area, to show it's high movement points, but I think I've overdone it a bit in the latest version.

The black flag will get skull and bones, I'm doing the details in the end. Of course the Dutchman would deserve a nice spooky sprite, but I will do the stuff from the original game first. So if I do this ship in the near future, it will be a stop-gap measure with reusing an existing model with ripped sails and a different colourisation.
